FASTag not on car windscreen? It can be blacklisted
News illustration

FASTags that are not properly fixed on the car windscreen and instead held in the hand during scanning can be blacklisted.

The move is meant to ensure smoother scanning and fewer delays at tolls, the NHAI said in a post on X.

Blacklisted FASTags can be deactivated and may not work at toll plazas, causing payment issues.

What's in it for you?

  • HIGHER COSTS, HASSLE IF BLACKLISTED: If your FASTag is blacklisted, you may have to pay higher tolls or face penalties.
  • COMPLIANCE CAN BRING CONVENIENCE: The rule can make passing through toll plazas much smoother and faster. It also can help prevent misuse of FASTags being shared between different vehicles.
