March Inflation: What got cheaper, what got costlier?
News illustration

Consumer inflation reached 3.4% in March, the highest in 12 months. This is a slightly higher jump compared to 3.21% in February.

However, this is still under the RBI’s target of 4%. It was also slightly lower than estimates by economists.

BRACE FOR MORE INFLATION POST ELECTIONS:
Experts told CNBC TV 18 that fuel prices have not been fully passed on to consumers, mainly due to state elections. Prices may increase in May.
