What does it mean for you?
- •DATA MAY NOT MATCH REALITY A survey released in 2025 by the National Commission for Women showed that - 40% women still felt unsafe. - 75% said they had lack of confidence or trust in authorities for filing complaints. - More shockingly, the report revealed that two-thirds of harassment incidents go unreported.
- •CONVICTION RATES ARE STILL LOW FOR MANY CRIMES - Less than 1 in 4 rape cases in which trials were completed in 2024 ended in conviction. - The conviction rate is similar for 'Assault or use of criminal force with intent to disrobe' and 'Stalking'. - It's higher at 42% for sexual harassment and 76% for 'Murder with Rape/Gangrape'
